Santa’s Test

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Oh, he knows the mandolin works perfectly fine. But it’s Christmas eve and the spirit of play rules. Santa pauses under your tree to leave a merry melody among all the brightly wrapped gifts. All carefully tested and Santa approved, just for you.

Santa’s Song

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Nick loves the outdoors. He stays healthy walking and climbing near his home. His feathered friends join him in a song when he’s out; holiday favorites, hymns, carols… he knows them all. If you’re out walking in the woods, listen for his voice in the whisper of the pines.

Santa’s Quest

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Nick loves maps. He has every one ever made. But his sextant doesn’t sight on the north star; it sees a better way, a straighter course. The brightest star in the heavens, every Christmas. A holy star.

Santa’s Dance

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Dance with me, dear Lady, asks Nick. She is the maker of magic, the baker of cookies, and the gentle love of Nick. What a team these two make! What dreams they make come true! It’s Christmas night, come dance with me, love, the work is done.

Study for Thedras, the Physician

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Physician– I would like to acknowledge the Lightworkers group that made the introduction for me to such a wonderful and frightening individual. His name is Thedras, and his work is of the most difficult sort. Are we ready to part with old habits? Broken modes? Emotional parasites? I think I’m ready… The anesthetic is in your eyes, and I am trying, daily, to be brave. Underpainting for Thedras, the physician (in color).

Mountain Sunset

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Can nature really create such intense color? She does. I think she has the heart of an artist. This work was done from life, and I still find myself marvelling at the intensity of the blues, seemingly made just for me. Is it Loch Ness? Or another ancient lake? If you can name it, let me know. Watercolor.

Storm Tide

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Oil on canvas. One of my rare forays into oil paint. Storm tide is a little jewel of a painting, for a small corner of your home. Location? Somewhere off the coast of Southern California near La Jolla, on a winter’s day.

The Guardian’s Decision

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Theirs is the most difficult assignment. To intervene in human affairs and compromise the lesson learned, or wait and pick up the pieces after a trial? Asking heaven for the strength to wait… or wisdom to act… the decision will never be easy, for their love for us is great.

Tuxedo

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Why is it so easy to fall in love with a man who’s totally turned out in a tux? It must be all those classic lines he uses, whether worn or spoken. Those 007 types.… they will catch your eye every time!

His is an important, difficult task. Are you ready? It’s time to let go of Energetic and Emotional parasites. New Collosus

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

This work has come out of our recent national tragedy. We call her Liberty, but she has had another name, the name her artist gave her, after the lost Colossus of Rhodes. She is suprised by pain, but deals with it through work, of cleaning house of all that is unworthy, of cleaning wounds, of cleaning off the dirt and standing forth again, beautiful and indomnitable. Tu ne cede malis sed contra audientor ito: Yield not to misfortune, but advance all the more boldly against it.
